Ruffle Fashion!05/25/2010 - PB&J Staff |
| Casual fashion, the art of picking out an outfit that is able to blend into everyday environments and yet to produce that fresh look and spark the "where did you get that cute outfit" type of question from friends and colleagues. We know what it is but sometimes it is hard to pick out the top, tank or dress that fits the bill for something casual yet trendy. Of course, what could be considered casual by you may be considered "too plain" by someone else but one concept that seem to work to spice up our traditional pieces is ruffles. Take a regular top and add some front and sleeve ruffles and you got yourself a "casual fun fashion" outfit. The same concept works great for tees, dresses and most other pieces. | ||
| The concept of ruffles is of course not new. As with the cyclical fashion trends move concepts on and off designers desks, ruffles has been with us in the past. In 1968 St. Petersburg Times wrote a pieces on ruffle dresses so sorry current-day-designers, your generation did not come up with this concept :) Let us just call it a time tested and proven concept. One of our prime vendors, Mystree has come up with several wonderful ruffle designs. Their concept appears to utilize a classy outfit as a baseline for their design and adding the ruffles as the finishing touch. The two pieces on the left are clickable for additional information. |

| As with anything else in fashion you can draw the line in any direction in terms of how far you wish to utilize an attribute to a constume. This applies to ruffle fashion too, naturally. From the more subtle ruffle ripple vest from XCVI to Mystree's Front Ruffle Zipup Top. |
