Newsbreak: Crochet not a 21st century invention! Although the origin of crochets is not 100% clear, wikipedia contributors circle in the first known historical application of this style to the 1800s in Europe. The knitting-process became a source of income for families and the outfits represented a touch of luxury and wealth. With time, of course, crochet clothing became more of a commodity but in the recent years there has been a resurgence of crochets entering peoples wardrobes.
